Nykholis, the elder son of Bobby Mohan, was literally born into music. From a tender age of 3 he was already at it playing his guitar as he was being taught by his dad while he was his “mother’s belly”. This science in exposing Nykholis to Classical music allowed for such a unique development musically and enabled him to perform songs and some of the hardest pieces on the guitar quite easily as it became second nature. Nykholis was also fortunate to be brought up by his Nana, an icon of Trinidad and Tobago, Boodram “Sadhu” Ramgoolam, who is a well known Indian Folk Performer, enthusiast, well versed in Theology and religious scriptures. His Nana spearheaded a drama group displaying epics from the holy hindu text, Ramayana. Nykholis would be exposed to the indo culture of Trinidad and Tobago and travelled with his nana all over the country performing or just watching him on stage.
At the age of eleven, Nykholis made is debut playing guitar on a main stage with the WorkShop 868 Band and he has worked his way up to Musical Director.
At the age of fourteen he entered local musical competitions, many that he won including the popular Mastana Bahar.
Nykholis now works as a Co-producer with his dad at W868 Studio, he was announced as the Musical Director of WorkShop 868 Band in their first official launch at the “Colours Of Music Concert 2018”
Apart from the WorkShop 868 Band commitments, Nykholis has embarked in composing his own original musical pieces displaying his love for classical music. Nykholis is the holder of Certificate of Psychology (UWI),Diploma in Chemical Engineering (UTT) and is currently finishing his BASc in Manufacturing and Designs (UTT).
